The photo was taken in 1986, after another former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida released Fela from the prison where Buhari had sent the legendary musician for a 20-month jail term for allegedly smuggling currencies into the country.

Nollywood actor turned politician, Desmond Olusola Elliot, has incurred the wrath of his fans and lovers who now see him as having left the toga of a gentleman and is living a carefree life just because he is playing with the politicians.
This new assumption of a man that has been shown so much love came when he posted a photo of himself on the social media during an All Progressive Congress campaign tour, displaying alcoholic drinks beside another chieftain of the party, a member of the House of Representatives.
His fans did not like the picture Elliot cut and some registered their disdain at the display, while others said they have lost every respect they had for him.

Crime and Security gathered that the deceased who was driving a Hyundai Accent saloon car with number plate HASC04IM was ambushed and murdered by unknown gunmen in a red Toyota Avalon saloon car.

An eyewitness account has it that the gunmen who were armed with sophisticated weapons approached their victim who was unaware that he was being trailed and in a harsh tone asked him to step out of his car.

Worried by the order, the deceased requested their identities, but rather than give it to him, one of the three gunmen shot him on the leg, just as he also shot sporadically into the air to scar onlookers who scampered for safety. After this, Onyekele was shot to death. The gunmen then ran away from the scene of the crime.

Speaking to Crime & Security on the incident, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Andrew Enwerem, said that the police carried the body of the deceased to the mortuary for autopsy.

The 10 Most Influential Nigerian Musicians On The Social Media In 2015

The 10 Most Influential Nigerian Musicians On The Social Media In 2015

The Anambra State-born “brothers wey dey scatter all over the borders” are undoubtedly the kings of the social media as far as Nigerian music goes. They are far ahead of the chasing pack when it comes to raw numbers and influence. Everything P Square does is likely going to end up being dissected and discussed on the social media, whether it’s an acquisition of a new car or some otherwise domestic issues.

1. P-Square:

A Google search of “P-Square,” “PSquare” and “P Square” yielded a whooping 1.18 million, 655,000 and 1.23 million results respectively as at the time of compiling this list. These Google search stats put them only behind Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari (8.65 million and 7.82 million respectively), among Nigerian personalities. Unlike most Nigerian celebrities, they are well represented in all of the major social media platforms. On the Big Two – Twitter and Facebook – their following is massive. Peter and Paul Okoye‘s combined Twitter following stands at 1.08 million (though these followers may overlap), while the duo’s official Facebook page has 1.8 million likes. Their individual accounts on Instagram also are also massively popular among music lovers and personal admirers. On the video-sharing social network YouTube, their official releases regularly attract views running into the millions, a feat that most Nigerian acts can only dream of.

2. Wizkid:

The self-styled StarBoy may not have had the best of years (musically) in 2014, but that did very little to dent his social media standing in Nigeria. He’s still the most followed Nigerian celebrity on Twitter, with 1.4 million followers, 300,000 more than his nearest competitor and professional archrival, Davido. His Facebook stats are not bad either, neither are his Instagram’s. On the Facebook-owned Instagram, he boasts of over 500,000 followers.

3. Davido:

Music has really been good to him since he hugged the limelight with his smash hit, Dami Duro. He’s one of the very few successful born-with-a-silver-spoon Nigerian crooners and with each year comes new highs and heights for the lad. He recently wrestled the number two spot on Twitter’s most followed Nigerian celebrities ranking from D Kokomaster, Dbanj. He now has close to 1.1 million followers on Twitter compared to Dbanj’s 1.06 million. On Facebook, it even gets better. Over there, his official page has 1.17 million likes on it. On Instagram, he just about edges out Wizkid with close to 550,000 followers. His 2014 hit track, Aye, garnered an incredible 14+ million views on YouTube, making it one of Nigeria’s all-time most viewed videos on the Google-owned social network.

4. Don Jazzy:

The Doro-Boss may not be the boss of the Nigerian social media scene, but he definitely can hold his own on it, anytime, any day. Nigeria’s biggest and most popular music producer has quite an intimidating social media statistics. On Twitter (which he uses very often to interact with his fans and not merely to post updates about upcoming shows, perhaps more than any other Nigerian A-list celebrity) he has about 1.02 million followers; on Facebook he has close to 750,000 likes on his verified page; and on Instagram he’s not doing badly either, with over 350 million followers. Being the boss of the biggest and most star-studded music label in the country of course comes with additional perks and added popularity to his own personal brand.

5. 2Baba:

Tu Face Idibia is undoubtedly a legend in the game; an icon in the African music scene who established and upcoming artistes alike look up to for inspiration and guidance. Therefore, it will be unsurprising to discover that the he enjoys a cult-like following among Nigeria’s music-crazed populace. And there’s no better place to gauge just how popular he is this than on the social media. Though it’s been years since he last released a hit, it hasn’t stopped his social media clout from expanding on a daily basis. He’s often off the gossip and paparazzi radar, but the father of 7 doesn’t need to embroil himself in any scandal or controversy to remain relevant.

He’s one of the most followed Nigerian celebrities on the social media. On Twitter, he has close to 1 million followers (958,000 as at the time of this publication). On Facebook, his official page has close to 400,000 likes to its name, while on Instagram he has roughly 222,000 followers.
6. D’Banj:

Though he’s no longer a force to be reckoned with in the music scene and he’s lately been hugging the headlines not because of his musical exploits but because of the alleged numerous debt scandals he’s been embroiled in, he has not fallen off the radar in the social media world. His tweets and posts are still well received, with thousands of retweets, favourites, likes and comments each time he sends something out with his social media accounts. On Twitter, his following is 1.05-million-strong. On Facebook and Instagram the figures are 1.18 million and about 70,000 respectively. Unlike his former business partner Don Jazzy, he doesn’t interact with his followers that much on the social media, but that has had very little or no bearing on his internet following.

7. Olamide:

The self-styled “Voice of the Street” is as massive on the social media as he is on the streets of South Western Nigeria. On Twitter, his following is a healthy 450,000 and on Instagram it’s almost 290,000.

8. Banky W:

The R&B crooner burst into the Nigerian music scene with his Naija-flavoured remix of Rihanna’s first hit single “Umbrella,” which he titled “Ebutemeta” and further cemented his place as one of the brightest and most talented stars in the local music scene with his biggest hit till date, “Strong Thing.” His persona and … has drawn him a host of admirers, many of whom follow him on online. The US-born entertainer commands Nigeria’s 5th largest celebrity Twitter following with 940,000. He’s not much of a Facebooker, but that didn’t deter his community page from attracting 464,000 likes. On Instagram, he’s followed by 158,000. Like Don Jazzy, he often uses his social media accounts for political and social activism.

9. Tiwa Savage:

The sizzling Mavin first lady is the queen of the social media in the Nigerian music scene. She easily beats out other female acts like Chidinma, Omawunmi and Waje to the top spot. Despite only bursting into the local scene from the Diaspora in 2010, she has managed to carve out a niche for herself and build her brand around it. She’s not the type that shies away from controversy; she courts them actually – an attitude that has won her lots of admirers and pissed off a whole lotta others. Such controversies, however, are the perfect ingredients for social media stardom and notoriety. She may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but she has really done well for herself in so short a period of time. Her Twitter fanbase is 895,000-strong and her Instagram statistics are equally intimidating with about 315,000 followers.

10. Ice Prince:

Panshak Zamani rounds off the list of the 10 most influential Nigerian musicians on the social media. His verified Twitter account is followed by about 610,000 tweeps and his official Facebook page has attracted nearly 1 million likes (precisely about 990,000), while on Facebook’s Instagram he has about 335,000 followers. Not bad for an artiste whose big break came in June 2010 with the release of “Oleku” featuring Brymo.

Worthy mentions: MI, Omawumi, Waje, Flavour N’abania, Wande Coal, Phyno, Naeto C, Sound Sultan, Jesse Jagz and Timaya.

9 things men notice first about women

9 things men notice first about women

Have you ever wondered about the things guys notice first about girls?
The truth is, men are not so difficult to understand since they are actually straight-forward. Therefore, it can be easy to find out what things guys notice first by watching them carefully each time they meet a woman.

Couple eating
Here are a few interesting things men notice first about women.
  1. Smile: A beautiful smile is one of the things most men notice first in a woman. A smiling woman is considered to be much more attractive and approachable. She sends the signal of happiness and optimism. Thus, it's much easier to start a conversation with a smiling woman. Moreover, a smile is a very contagious thing: when you smile to someone it provokes the smile in return.
  2. Eyes: Another common thing men notice first about a woman is her eyes. Ever wondered why it's said that the eyes are the windows to your soul? They can tell a lot about a person. It can be easy to find out if someone is lying to you or simply telling the truth. Eyes are real magnets that can attract and interest a stranger. Surveys have shown that nearly 70 % of men pay attention to woman's eyes first and only then to everything else. There is also a popular stereotype that men like women with large childish eyes. Well, if you don't have large eyes, a well-applied makeup will do the trick. Maintaining eye contact for a few seconds is enough to determine if there are any chances to continue with your acquaintance or not.
  3. Hair: Believe it or not, one of the first things men notice about women is their hair. So ladies, all those hours spent in the hairdresser's chair are not in vain. Most guys think that a stylish, healthy, shiny and sleek hair is a sign of health and youth. Also, most men like to be with a woman with a well-maintained hair that smells good too. So keep your hair neat and well cared for, no matter the length.
  4. Weight: Weight is one of those things most men notice about women. It may sound shallow, but it actually makes sense. You've probably heard that most men prefer women with curves, but some also like their women slim. Definitely, besides the smile, eyes and hair, men are also drawn by a woman's body size. So if you're big or small, have no fear. There's a man out there who likes you either way.
  5. Chest: Perhaps you think the first thing guys notice when they meet a woman is her bosom, but that is not entirely true. Certain polls and surveys have shown that men notice a woman's chest/bosom only after her smile and her eyes. However, breasts are usually considered to be a sign of youth and fertility, and it is one of the reasons why most men would pay attention to a woman's chest. Then again, tastes differ. What is beautiful for one man may be uninviting for another. Thus, some men actually like women with moderate or small boobs. It's all a matter of choice.
  6. Originality: Men also take note of false body enhancements women tend to use sometimes. If you have hair extensions, artificial eyelashes and nails, he will definitely notice it. For most men, fake means high maintenance and large expense. While fake eyelashes might draw his eye, he may not be entirely taken by them. However, some men don't mind. But it wouldn't do to turn yourself into a human doll, because a man would always wonder what you look like without all the layers of makeup, and whether you're worth sticking around with or not.
  7. Legs: A lot of men love slim legs and this is another thing they notice about women. During the warm seasons, legs are one of the greatest attractions that a woman possesses. Calves are another thing men love about a woman's legs. They love the way their legs look in skirt and shorts. They also love the way women cross their legs.
  8. Skin: Most men also pay attention to the way a woman's skin looks. Men see a good complexion as a sure sign of health. Most men think that a woman with a clear skin tone is healthy. While some men go for light-skinned ladies, others prefer glowing dark skin. Once again, it boils down to choice.
  9. Dress sense: Probably, it's a surprising thing but most men do notice a woman's style of dressing. A recent study has found that most men prefer a classy dresser to a woman who shows too much skin. Men love some mystery about women, but half-naked body reveals all the secrets. A great sense of style can tell a lot about a lady. Men are also aware of fashion and trends, and can form an opinion about a woman based on her fashion choices.

10 things you should NEVER say to your spouse during a fight

10 things you should NEVER say to your spouse during a fight

Couple fighting
No matter how loving you and your spouse are towards each other, there is bound to be disagreement every now and then And as you increase communication with your spouse, arguments will happen.
You may wish you could turn back the clock — over and over again. Hopefully, humour can keep the argument from exploding out of control. If not, misunderstandings and fights tend to occur with greater frequency.
Despite the inevitability of an argument, some things should never be said. Here is a list of 10 of them.
  1. "I want a divorce" While the coals of temper are ablaze, it is easy to say things you do not mean. Asking for divorce, though, even if amends have been made and forgiveness, requested, is a difficult thing to erase. It brings a lack of confidence in one another.
  2. "I'm not angry" If you are not angry, then why are you making snappy remarks, slamming the door, putting her down and pretending that she does not exist? Denying your emotions will not help you in any way. We desire acceptance, and denying your reactions with those that love you is pointless. It is better to control your emotions and talk about what bothers you instead.
  3. "You are just like your father!" When you say this, you are probably talking about your father-in-law's defects, rather than his good qualities. Besides not seeing your husband for who he really is, this type of statement will immediately make him take the defensive. Think about it. What would you like your child to be doing in a similar situation, when that day arrives?
  4. "You are a (insert negative adjective)!" Name-calling is ugly. Whether it is comparing her with someone you know or making her feel worthless, it will make her feel more vulnerable.
  5. "Look, the kids are crying!" STOP! Before you read any further, always remember: You should never, ever, argue in front of your children. If you use your children to gain advantage in a fight, it will only hurt your kids more.
  6. "You are ALWAYS late, You NEVER do the dishes" Be wary of and even remove the words "never" and "always" from your vocabulary when describing something your spouse does that irritates you. By using these words, you show total lack of confidence and hope that your partner even has the desire to change. Never generalize.
  7. "It's all your fault!" Rarely, in fact, almost never is something, in a marriage, only one partner's fault. Assume responsibility and recognize your own faults.
  8. "You don't love me anymore!" There is already plenty of drama to go around, so why add to it by telling your wife how she feels — whether she loves you or not? Respect her feelings. Making yourself the victim, reducing the problem’s importance and avoiding the problem does not resolve anything.
  9. "Why don't you act more like (insert name here)'s husband?" Do not compare the person you chose to be with to anyone else. You already saw and understood the best and the worst about him before you got married. Besides, if you see someone else looking perfect and desirable, it's probably only on the outside. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Keep your problem at home.
  10. "My mother warned me about this!" Bringing someone else into the fight is complicated enough as it is. Make that person your mother and the whole situation will probably explode. If you are so devoted to your mother, and if she had warned you about this, then why did you marry your wife in the first place? Most people already don't like their mother-in-laws, but telling your wife that she is disliked by your mother will only make matters worse.
Now, just because you have used one or more of the phrases listed above, all is not lost. You can change. Stop now, ask for forgiveness, and set goals to stop repeating the mistake.
No article, paper or manual can help you save your marriage or strengthen your family if you do not apply what has been taught. Practice good communication. Your marriage is the most important relationship to keep strong, in order to maintain your family unity.

7 types of love you may experience in life

7 types of love you may experience in life

Even though most people associate love with romance, there are tons of different types of love out there.
Movies usually stick to portraying romantic love, where two people fall head over heels for each another, and end up getting married and having little babies.

A couple cuddling
However, there are different types of love that you may have already experienced without realizing it:
  1. PLATONIC LOVE: Love doesn't always have to have a sexual element to it. Don't you have friends that you absolutely adore? If you would do anything for your bestie, but don't feel any romantic or sexual attachment to them, then that's platonic love. It's one of the types of love that occurs the most often, because there are so many people in your life that you have platonic connections to.
  2. UNREQUITED LOVE: No one wants their love to be unrequited, but it happens pretty often. If you've ever fallen in love with someone that just didn't feel the same about you, you've experienced the pain that goes along with this type of love. It's heartbreaking, but it's a part of life. It helps you learn how to handle pain, and more importantly, how to grow from it.
  3. TRUE LOVE: This is that love that you see in films. It's when two people are crazy about each other. There's not just a single component to this type of love. When you're truly in love, you adore the other person's mind, heart, body, and soul. It's the strongest type of love that there is, and you're lucky if you're able to experience it.
  4. LUSTFUL LOVE: You're super into the hot guy you see every day on the train, but you have no clue what his name is. You don't know anything about his personality, and frankly, you don't care. You've created an identity for him in your head, and that's good enough. You don't really want a relationship with him; you just want to taste those gorgeous lips.
  5. PUPPY LOVE: This temporary love is what you feel when you have a major crush on someone. It usually occurs when you're a child or a preteen because it's filled with innocence. Everyone has experienced this, at least to a certain extent. It's called puppy love, because you worship the person like a little doggie does his owner.
  6. UNATTAINABLE LOVE: Are there any celebrities you'd love to date, even though they're thirty years older than you and currently married? That's the type of unattainable love that we've all experienced. Even though we know it's virtually impossible to get together with an older star, that doesn't stop us from daydreaming about them. They're so darn perfect, so how could we resist? It's human nature, after all.
  7. SELF-LOVE: Don't you just love how awesome of a person you are? If you don't think that's true, you have some work to do. You've all heard about how important it is to love yourself before you love anyone else. If you're not the biggest fan of yourself, then start listing all of your great qualities. You need to realize just how amazing you are--and you are amazing!
Love is what makes the world go 'round. Which types of love have you experienced so far?

For the married women, there are some kind of gifts your husband would be expecting from you - that is, the type he would really appreciate.
Since he may not openly tell you exactly what he wants you to give him as a gift, we'll help you out and give a few hints.

Couple smiling
Here are some of the Valentine's Day gift your husband really wants from you:
  1. Your admiration: You'll be surprised how your hubby longs to hear your appreciation for all the hard work he puts in to provide for the family. Don't let his sacrifice go unnoticed. Get the kids involved and come up with a creative way to praise him for being a wonderful husband.
  2. Uninterruptible leisure time: Whether it's video games or watching his favorite football team, do your best to block off some time for him to enjoy this…interruption free. If you really want to make it special have a nice spread of his favourite snacks prepared.
  3. An outing together enjoying his favourite hobby: Maybe your husband likes football or playing video games. We know ladies, these typically aren’t at the top of your 'favorite things' list, but for his sake agree to go with him and really do your best to learn and enjoy yourself. Enjoy him!
  4. His favourite dinner: Go ahead and let him have that steak dinner he's been asking for. Whip him up a meal that is creatively themed around his favourite foods. Get the kids involved and have them help with the dessert. Make him feel like a king.
  5. Celebration of his epic manliness: Any gift that shows off his distinct, manly qualities… men love that. A new set of tools, a video game console or those new basketball sneakers he's had his eye on for months would work perfectly. Whatever you decide to go with just make sure it expresses how much you value the gift he truly is.
