Gambians are fleeing in their numbers following the political tormoil in the country
More than 45,000 people have fled a political crisis in The Gambia this month, the United Nations said Friday, as veteran leader Yahya Jammeh faced a midday deadline to leave office, AFP reports.
"Around 45,000 people are now reported to have arrived in Senegal from The Gambia... amid the ongoing political uncertainty as Senegalese and West African troops entered the country on Thursday," the UN refugee agency said in Geneva.

The Senegalese troops backed by Nigerian Air Force and other African troops were on standby to move into The Gambia as President Yahya Jammeh approached a midnight deadline to stand down or face military action after refusing to leave at the end of his term.

Ikea – Absence of the sixth prosecution witness on Thursday stalled the trial of two engineers over the collapse of the guest house of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). The engineers are Akinbela Fatiregun and Oladele Ogundeji. They are standing trial before an Ikeja High Court. Mrs Idowu Alakija, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), told the court that the Sixth Prosecution Witness (PW6) was overseas.

A final year Business Administration undergraduate of a privately owned University in Oghara  in Delta State, on Sunday allegedly ran mad after she was reportedly pummeled by her lover boyfriend.
Reports said her roommates (names withheld) screamed for help when the undergraduate who hails from Benin city, Edo State allegedly undressed herself immediately she stepped out of her boyfriend’s room few miles away from their hostels.

Supo died on Monday, January 16, 2017 in the United States.Before his death, Supo (in black) was quite popular in the Nigerian Music Scene and he was a respected and popular show promoter in United States who took Dbanj and Don Jazzy on their first major tour US several years back.

Supo who had gone through thirteen surgeries had been off the scene since his March 18, 2010 car crash that left him bed ridden for over two years. He was just kicking off his career as a promoter again before he died.

A woman who had 17 miscarriages after being told she would never give birth has become a mother to four children - in just nine months, Dailymail reveals.
The woman identified as Lytina Kaur was told she may never be able to give birth after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, an aggressive cancer of the white blood cells, at the age of 17 and receiving a bone marrow transplant a year later.
