Aisha Buhari distances self from fraudsters

Aisha Buhari distances self from fraudsters

Aisha Buhari
Wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has dissociated herself from alleged fraudsters who were arrested for using her name for unwholesome activities. She has also warned that any of her staff found to be involved in fraudulent activities will face the full weight of the law.
This followed the arrest of one Amina Mohammed, by the Department of State Services (DSS) in connection with fraudulent transactions over which she mentioned some names including Mariyatu who she said is a sister to the wife of the president.
In a statement issued by Suleiman Haruna, Director of Information to Wife of the President, in Abuja on Wednesday, she said she had been following events related to the investigation of the fraud suspect and wished to dissociate herself from all the individuals involved in the stated fraud case.
According to the statement, “she wishes to state categorically that Mariyatu is not her sister and the so-called Amina Mohammed is not and was never her associate and is therefore not in a position to transact any business in her name or that of her office.
“She wishes to further state that she does not run businesses in her office, therefore whoever does business with anyone in her name will be doing so at his/her own risk.
“As for staff of her office, she wishes to state that anyone found to be engaged in fraudulent dealings, will face the full wrath of the law.”

Uber Launches Bus-Booking Service In Cairo

Uber Launches Bus-Booking Service In Cairo

Uber Technologies Inc has launched a bus-booking service in Cairo, Egypt the company’s Chief Executive said on his first visit to the country as the company aims to tap a sprawling low-income market.
The company also announced a new Uber Lite app that, from early next year, will allow users with basic Android phones and little connectivity to book trips in the Middle East.
Uber Chief Executive, Dara Khosrowshali in a speech said they are thrilled to celebrate the important role Uber is playing in Egypt, adding that for those that ride as Uber passengers, those who drive on their platform, and for the Egyptian cities that they serve.
“And we are here to announce a couple of very, very exciting new products, some of which we are building right here in Egypt.”
Egypt is home to more than 5 million Uber users, the company is also investing more than $100 million in an Egyptian customer support center.
“Second, I’m excited to be announcing the rollout of Uber Lite across the region. Uber Lite is a simple version of the rider app, built to save space and to work in any network, and on any Android phone. It is piloting in Pakistan to start, and will be expanding to the rest of the Middle East region over the next months,” he said.
Uber has been testing the service since September and will expand across Cairo in the coming months.
The announcement came a day after Uber’s Middle East rival Careem launched a bus-booking service in Egypt.
“We always kept in mind what the best service to provide for the Egyptian citizen could be. We also kept in mind how we, as a country, could support the often used informal sector and make it part of the formal sector, therefore protecting the citizen using the service. This also brings revenues to the country through taxes. As such, we’ve looked at this process from all angles,” said Egypt’s Minister of Investment, Sahar Nasr.
Last month Reuters reported that Careem had been working with investment bank Jefferies on investment options and fundraising, including a potential deal with Uber.

Popular musician, Small Doctor, 3 others in police trouble for possession of firearm

Popular musician, Small Doctor, 3 others in police trouble for possession of firearm

AFRO pop artiste, Adekunle Temitope, popularly called Small Doctor, and three others were yesterday arrested by police operatives for threatening to shoot a traffic policeman.

Small Doctor

It was gathered that the musician before now had a case at the Lagos State Crime Investigation and Intelligence Department for shooting at his Agege show where he injured four persons. The state Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who confirmed the arrest, said the musician had, last week, fired some shots with a pump action rifle during a show at Agege area of Lagos, injuring four persons. He said: “ You would have thought the incident would wisen him up but surprisingly today, I got a situation report from traffic monitors at Oshodi expressway alleging that four unknown gunmen in green unregistered SUV brought out a weapon and threatened to shoot the policemen. “Fortunately, the DPO and other policemen at Shogunle intercepted the suspects and arrested them. “When they were brought here it was discovered that one of them was the same Adekunle Temitope aka Small Doctor with three others and they were arrested with a functional rifle, a cartridge and some personal items. He added “I am concerned as one will expect that a popular musician like him would be a role model but his character of gangsterism is nothing to emulate.” he said. The CP further urged celebrities to stop involving themselves in gangsterism and conflicts that do not portray them well. “You will recall that the Inspector General of Police, I-G Ibrahim Idris has a window period for submission of all firearms as all licenses had been cancelled and all approvals suspended. “I have directed that the case be properly investigated and they will be charged for threatening violence on policemen and being in possession of firearms,” he said. Previous offence According to the commissioner, ‘Small Doctor’ had earlier been involved in a similar offence and is currently under investigation for firing live ammunition at the Agege stadium after a show on November 27. He said: “Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’, was arrested and taken to the state CID for questioning. He was alleged to have fired a gun; the pellets from the gun injured four people who were rushed to the hospital.”

10 Bad Habits No Grown Woman Should Have

10 Bad Habits No Grown Woman Should Have

Image result for habit
We tend to outgrow the bad habits we developed in our younger years naturally. If those bad habits didn’t die off, society wouldn’t be able to function because we’d be a bunch of unproductive adult-children sucking our thumbs during meetings and biting our nails in the bread aisle. But, for some people, certain pestiferous habits stick around much longer than they should. These habits should never follow a woman into adulthood.

1. DATING “BAD BOYS.” You’re not a rebel without a cause. You’re a grown ass woman with a job, an apartment and plants. You can’t, in all seriousness, have a “BUT DADDY I LOVE HIM!” attitude and then go home and pay your electric bill. Responsibility and riding off into the sunset on a motorcycle with a greasy-haired convicted felon will never mix. The appeal of the “bad boy” should wear off at the same time you outgrow your training bra.

2. GIVING OUT A FAKE NUMBER. If you’re not interested in a guy and you don’t want to give him your number, then don’t. Turning someone down because you’re not interested isn’t mean, but deliberately giving the guy a wrong number is. So is giving him your actual number and then ignoring all of his texts. If you’re not interested, say so, and tell the guy to have a good night. If he doesn’t leave you alone, revert back into your gargoyle form until he gets scared and leaves.

3. TELLING YOUR FRIENDS EVERY DETAIL OF YOUR SEX LIFE. Your friends do not want to picture you bent over backwards doing the Chattanooga piledriver. It may have been fun to swap stories when sex was brand new for all of you, but its novelty has likely worn off by now. The devil’s business is a normal part of your lives and should remain largely private, especially if your partner isn’t comfortable with you describing every act in graphic detail over brunch using whipped cream and crepes to better illustrate your story.

4. EXCESSIVE SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE. Do you really have nothing better to do than spend hours digging through pictures and posts from people you barely remember? If your life is so boring that you spend most of it living vicariously though everyone else online, maybe you should get some hobbies. If a complete stranger can look at your social media profiles and quickly determine your work schedule, when you get your period, the names of every stuffed animal you’ve ever had and the consistency of your last bowel movement, you are giving out WAY too much information online. If you have enough time to do that, people are going to think you have no life.

5. NOT APPROACHING GUYS. It’s 2018. You don’t have to sit around in your tower waiting for some dude to come rescue you and take you to see a fruity opera. If you see someone who interests you, walk over to him and strike up a conversation. There’s nothing wrong with a woman making the first approach. That “women must be chased” BS needs to die in a fire along with lime-flavored candy and duckface.

6. NOT WORKING OUT. You don’t need to hit the gym so hard that you become a female version of The Mountain, but staying active is important for all adults. Spending all of your free time sitting on your butt shoveling sugar into your face is going to land you on an episode of My 600-lb Life. You only get one body, so make an effort to take care of it.
7. FAILING TO TAKE OFF YOUR MAKEUP AT THE END OF THE DAY. There is no excuse for this one. All you need is a makeup wipe or a bottle of face wash. Cleaning everything off takes two minutes tops. Your skin needs to breathe while you sleep, not suffocate under a day’s worth of makeup and other dirt and grime. Leaving makeup on overnight can cause premature aging, breakouts and defiled pillow cases, among other things. Just wipe yourself off. It isn’t difficult to do that in other areas.

8. COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR BODY. If you wanted to annoy your friends and make your boyfriend/husband uncomfortable with your insecurities, then you succeeded. Otherwise, complaining about your body accomplishes nothing. There’s no point in comparing your body to someone else’s when they look a certain way and you don’t. We’re all different and our bodies will respond to stress and aging in various ways over time. If there’s something about your appearance that bothers you and you have the power to change it, then by all means, change it. Just don’t voice your complaints constantly to people who have already reassured you that no, you don’t look fat in those jeans.

9. NOT SEEING A GYNECOLOGIST REGULARLY. Lady parts, though awesome, need regular maintenance. It’s important to keep yourself informed on what’s happening down there, especially if you have a predisposition to things like cervical cancer or endometriosis. Regular check ups are good for your health and your peace of mind. See a good doctor regularly and make sure all of your lady machinery is in tip-top shape and ready to go.

10. STAYING IN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS FOR WAY TOO LONG. Enough with the flimsy, BS excuses. You’re an adult, and you’re miserable with the guy. You don’t have to stay in a bad relationship the same way you don’t have to stand in a puddle of urine in the kiddie pool. Whatever your (disturbing) reasons are, you’re there by choice even though there are plenty of better places to be. All you need is enough willpower to walk away.

NYSC Bans Unauthorized Journeys By Corps Members

NYSC Bans Unauthorized Journeys By Corps Members

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Zakari Kazaure has said that it is now an offence for any serving corp member to travel out of camp or places of primary assignment without obtaining permission.

Kazaure stated this at the Ekiti State Permanent Orientation Camp, situated in Ise/Emure, in Ise/Orun local government area of Ekiti state during a shuttle visit to educate corp members on dangerrs inherent from playing with their health and security.

According to him, the standing rule of the agency was being repeatedly ignored in a manner that suggested that authorities had abdicated their roles of looking after the wellbeing as well as the welfare of the corp members.

He said, " You all have to avoid night journeys and other unnecessary journeys for that matter. Remember that before you embark on any journey, the need arises that you first inform your immediate supervisors and obtain necessary permits

" A graduate is expected by the society to be above board. I therefore want you to please join hands with me to ensure that the tragic incident in Taraba is the very last of such", he said.

Kazaure who arrived the Ekiti state camp at about 4:45pm on Tuesday expresssed deep regrets over the tragic death of nine corp members in Taraba state during the weekend, describing it as huge loss to him personally, and the nation in general.

The DG who himself claimed to have undergone the NYSC mandatory programme, over 30-years ago, with graduates as children said the sad incident was highly regetted, even as he called for a minute silence to honour those who lost their lives.

According to him, there was also the need for them to respect the culture and tradition of their host communities.

He advised a section of Nigerians accusing the NYSC of negligence to know that the standing rules banning the youth corp members from unauthorised journeys are more implementable when they are on orientation camp, than when serving in places of primary assignment where they are treated as independent adults.

Gen. Kazaure said any corp member in the country was free to call his personal number o

He warned them, particularly the female ones to avoid dressing irresponsibly and also keep away from sharp practices such as engaging in intrrnet fraud among others.

Earlier the new State Director of NYSC, Mrs. Aniefiok Okpongete had told the DG that a total of 1,809 corps members were currently registered in the state.

She said out of the figure, 1,109 are males while the rest are females.

However, she said a total of 187, among them, 149 females and 38 males had been advised to leave camp on account of being either pregnant, nursing mothers or facing critical health challenges.a

Music: Mimido - Folklaw [Download]

Music: Mimido - Folklaw [Download]

Image result for mimido - folklaw
He is another fine product of  MTN project fame. Remember, ‘Taiwo Rolling Naira’ of season 6? Yes! he is the new folklore voice you hear singing Aaye on radio and in Lagos BRT buses, he only adopted the name Mimido as his stage name. He recently won the Lets Go Naija Challenge organised by A.R.M Pension, which is a blessing and an encouragement for his fine craft. Although his vocal ability has been revealed and appreciated on the project fame stage, he didn’t get a chance to show much of his ability to compose until now. His song, Folklaw, still has a strong impression on me. Its the kind of song that you’d associate with Asa. I found something consistent about his  music, its the strong themes of his songs. His songs have deeper melodies that amplify the stories he tells with each. It is exciting to think about Mimido’s  kind of music and its impact on the Nigerian music industry. He is one of the artistes expected to hit the industry with a new wave of ‘good music’.

Does God Tell Us Who to Marry?

Inline image
Many people have been decieved into terrible marriages or prevented from marrying a good spouse in the name of "My Pastor said" or "GOD said".

I believe there is so much hypocrisy surrounding this matter. Lets face it..how come people don't seek GOD's face or ask a pastor for confirmation if the prospective spouse is an extreme opposite of what they desire..?

How many educated ladies will bother to ask GOD or pastor to confirm if a known armed robber is the one should such woos for marriage?
How many Guys will go to GOD to confirm for them if a popular LovePeddler is the one? But often times we tend to fool ourselves going to a pastor or going to bother GOD to tell us if a seemingly desirous prospective partner comes our way and i tend to wonder.

In the entire scriptures, there were only two instances where GOD expressly gave a clear direction concerning choosing a spouse and in those two instances, it was a very difficult choice and that was when God commanded the prophet Hosea, "Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom.Hosea 1:2. And the second instance was when GOD sked Joseph to marry Mary who was already pregnant.

GOD respects our freedom of choice and for the Christians, we are encouraged to be yoked with fellow Believers and as far as GOD is concerned, A man has the sole responsibility to find a wife and once he finds one and marries her, he obtains favour from GOD. Proverbs 18:22.

The summary of this piece is that we should stop deceiving ourselves by saying 'Prophet said, My pastor said, Alfa said...' because in the real sense, it is our mind telling us what we want to hear. You can rely on your intuition or peculiar signs that gives you confirmation but we should stop hiding behind those words 'GOD SAID'

As a man,it is your paramount duty to search so pray to GOD for guidance and as a lady, pray to GOD that the type of man you desire finds you.

Just as we can see from the scriptures,if GOD ever tells you to marry a certain person then it is most certain that the choice of spouse will be very difficult for you to accept and this is the way you will know that indeed, it is GOD's choice for you

I hope this makes sense.

‘I FOUND OUT I WAS THE SIDECHICK ON CHRISTMAS DAY’ – TV PERSONALITY, LAYOLE OYATOGUN RECOUNTS HER SAD 2017 EXPERIENCES

‘I FOUND OUT I WAS THE SIDECHICK ON CHRISTMAS DAY’ – TV PERSONALITY, LAYOLE OYATOGUN RECOUNTS HER SAD 2017 EXPERIENCES

From losing her mom, to discovering she was the sidechick in her relationship, she wrote;
“Welcome 2018! For a while I’ve been waiting for you, waiting to turn this chapter, waiting for this chance to begin anew! pray tell me, will you be good to me? PLEASE WILL YOU?
Year 2017 was a nasty era, I remember in January of that year I made the proverbial proclamation..”this year is my year”, I disown it now, too many trials on top tribulation. In October i lost my dearest mum, my one true rock!
On Christmas day i found out I was the side chick! I couldn’t get in because my boyfriend had another girl in his house, the list goes on. I have closed the chapter called 2017 in my life, I won’t curse it, won’t nurse it, even rehearse it in the least bit, But surely, however slowly, i will disperse it so God can reverse it.
Don’t get me wrong, still I’m grateful for a lot! life, health and a whole lot more cos just like gold, i went through the fire but came back super lit! I give God all the glory.
2018!!! I have found strength within.. So lets take it from here, let’s take this amazing journey together. With God & guts, UNSTOPPABLE is the word.
Happy New Year People!”
Obaseki Meets Workers, Gives 72 Hours To Treat Files

Obaseki Meets Workers, Gives 72 Hours To Treat Files

The Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, met with the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries and other state civil servants on salary grade level 15 to 17 with a pledge to boost capacity development and provide health insurance for workers in the state. Addressing the civil servants at Government House in Benin City, Obaseki said the aim of the meeting was to share thoughts towards ensuring a more efficient and result oriented state Civil Service in pursuing the objectives of 2018 budget, which he has assented to. He said he spends 48 hours responding to memos and mandated senior officials to respond to all memo within 72 hours. “I have a dashboard tracker to monitor the response time. Government will issue queries to those who flout this rule, and other areas where officers are found wanting,” he stressed. “The era of automatic promotion is gone as people must earn their promotion. Promotion will not be delayed. But assessment will be done on time as delay in promoting workers will not be tolerated,” he added. On ways to ease the workload on civil servants, the governor promised to recruit more workers, provide facilities and logistics and procure additional 1,000 computers to augment the 1,000 bought last year. Stressing that his administration will not negotiate the health of the people of the state, he said the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme will be made compulsory for all in the state, especially the civil servants, to enable them access quality good healthcare. The governor emphasised that with the nation’s economic challenges, there was need to avoid the luxury of the past in the running of government affairs and to embrace efficiency by deploying Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the state civil service. “We will emphasise training and re-training for our civil servants, we need to create an environment where we will enjoy coming to work,” he said. The governor also assured that the civil servants will participate in the housing project to be embarked on by the state government this year. Obaseki said the state is working to entrench a system that works for the people, adding “Given the situation we have found ourselves, we have no choice than to change the way we do things. The people of the state expect so much from us because of the level of political awareness and we are prepared to deliver on our promises”. The governor led the workers to inspect an ICT training centre located inside Government House with which the state government intends to train civil servants, in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Earlier, Head of Service, Mrs Gladys Idahor expressed appreciation to the governor for his commitment to capacity building for civil servants in the state. Idahor assured the governor of commensurate support and loyalty of the workforce in the state, adding, “This year, we will be more committed and dedicated on our part as civil servants to ensure effective service delivery.”
